Natural Pets TV Dog Edition Episode 2 Dog Dental and Mouth Care

It was great to again work with Pet World Insider to spread my message of holistic pet health to a world-wide audience of dog and cat afficionados. Natural Pets TV is a new series of YouTube videos from Pet World Insider dedicated to the promotion of the health of our canine and feline friends. In episode two of Natural Pets TV: Dog Edition, Pet World Insider's Robert Semrow, Dr. Jodie Gruenstern, Dr. Ken Tudor and I team up to discuss dog dental and mouth care. Many dog owners aren't aware their canine companion has periodontal disease until clincical signs appear, including appetite changes, lethargy, oral malodor ("bad breath"), and others, or a veterinarian discovers the problems during a physical exam. At that point dogs should to go under anestheisa to improve or resolve underlying dental concerns. Such is why I recommend daily home dental care for my canine (and feline) patients. Under the guidance of their veterinarian, owners can prevent periodontal disease from happening in the first place and reduce the potential their canine compainos will require an anesthetic dental and possible tooth extractions.
