Memorial for Mona the Dalmatian

Photo of Mona Receives Acupuncture Electrostimulation Treatment My practice is primarily focused on improving the quality of life of dogs and cats of all ages, yet the majority of my patients are in their senior years of life and have compromise to their overall comfort and mobility. As a result, there is an inevitable conclusion to the time I spend with my patients. During 2012, an unusual trend in my practice developed where I had multiple Dalmatian patients. Although all of them are exceptional, Mona was unique in her sweet demeanor and determination to stay up, walking, and seemingly defying the odds given to a senior dog having significant challenges in navigating her environment. It was very rewarding to see Mona respond to acupuncture treatment over the months I worked with her. Mona is no longer with us, but her spirit lives on. Here are the fond words of Mona's caretaker: This amazing creature came to me at a time in which I really needed comfort, companionship and love. Mona came to be through SaveADog. What personality and love she gave to me and so many others for 12 years. Mona died at 16 year of age in my arms outside with soft music playing and the sound of the bird chirping on a warm sunny day in San Diego. If I could have extended her life I would have kept her forever. This beautiful dogs name is and will remain Mona. Thank you for sharing in Mona's memorial. Dr PM
