Instead of simply giving your canine companion a Distemper combination vaccine because you received a card in the mail that it is “due”, consider evaluating his blood for antibodies produced from previous vaccinations by having your veterinarian run a VacciCheck test. If your dog’s antibody levels are sufficient, then providing a Distemper booster isn’t necessary and your pooch will be spared from potential health consequences associated with immune stimulation.
