Should every dog that enters an animal shelter automatically receive a Distemper combination (DA2PPV) vaccination? Such is a common practice, but it’s not always needed to promote their immunity to Distemper, Adenovirus, Parvovirus, and Parainfluenza.
If a dog’s antibody levels are “protective”, then providing a Distemper combination vaccination isn’t necessary and potential health consequences associated with vaccine-associated immune stimulation can be prevented.
